A customer of our joinery brought us a round table that could be enlarged if required. He did not want to throw it away, but wanted us to rework it. He specifically requested the use of a slatted look.
The following measures were implemented by our master craftsman Marc Zimmermann: The table base was fitted with panels at the top and bottom to create a round and conical surface for the slats. To conceal the old table base, the lower level was covered with a fleece. The oak slats were then attached and glued with wooden dowels. Five layers of thick oak veneer were applied to the round table frame to achieve a modern look. Finally, all surfaces were sanded and treated with white Naturtrend wood design oil.
